Connecting a Wix store
Step-by-step guide to connecting your Wix store to SimpledAId and adding the chat widget with Wix Custom Code.
SimpledAId works with Wix as well as Shopify and WooCommerce. Connecting takes a few minutes and does not require a developer. There are two stages: letting the bot read your store, and adding the chat widget through Wix Custom Code. If you are new here, start with what SimpledAId is.
Stage 1: let SimpledAId read your store
- On the SimpledAId homepage, paste your Wix store URL, for example
https://yourbrand.comor your.wixsite.comaddress. - Enter your email so we can send you your bot.
- SimpledAId crawls your public storefront: products, delivery and returns pages and any policies it can find. This builds the knowledge base the bot answers from.
Because the initial crawl reads your public storefront, you do not need to install anything yet to start chatting with your bot and checking the quality of its answers.
Stage 2: add the chat widget with Custom Code
When you are happy with the bot, add the widget so customers can use it:
- In your SimpledAId dashboard, copy your widget snippet.
- In your Wix dashboard, go to Settings, then Custom Code (under the Advanced section).
- Click Add Custom Code, then paste your snippet into the box and give it a name such as “SimpledAId”.
- Under Add Code to Pages, choose All pages, and set Load code once.
- Under Place Code in, choose Body - end, then click Apply. The chat widget now appears across your storefront.
Custom Code on Wix requires a Premium plan with a connected domain. If you do not see the Custom Code option, upgrade your plan and connect your domain first, then return to this step.
Keeping the bot up to date
When you add products or change shipping and returns information, SimpledAId re-reads your storefront so the bot stays accurate. You do not need to re-paste anything. If you make a large change and want it reflected straight away, you can trigger a refresh from the dashboard.
Troubleshooting
- The bot is missing a product. Make sure the product is published and publicly visible, then refresh the crawl from the dashboard.
- The widget is not showing. Confirm the code is set to load on All pages and is placed in Body - end, not the head. Republish your site after saving.
- You cannot find Custom Code. This feature needs a Premium plan with a connected domain. Free and unconnected sites do not have it.
